2nd Annual UBS EMEA Banking Technology Survey: We have used UBS Evidence Analyst
Lab to present our 2nd Annual EMEA Bank Tech survey (run in parallel with the 7th justin.forsythe@ubs.com
annual UBS US Bank Tech survey), with samples collected during February and March +44-20-7567 4191
2026 and receiving responses from the management teams of 86 banks, building Mahir Bidani, ACA
societies, credit unions and other financial institutions across the UK, France and Analyst
Germany (of which ~37% use the top two core providers - Oracle Financial Services and mahir.bidani@ubs.com
Temenos). The idea is to better understand anticipated 2026 bank IT budgets, pricing +44-20-7568 3963
expectations, their perception and rating of core banking software providers (product Michael Briest
and customer service), intentions to change their core provider, spending priorities, and Analyst
views on the evolving competitive landscape. We recognise the sample is relatively small michael.briest@ubs.com
compared to the ~5-6k banks in the EU and UK, and does not capture every country in +44-20-7568 8367
the EU, but we intend to look to increase the sample size going forward. It should be
viewed as a helpful supplement to better understanding the current banking technology
environment (and in aggregate provides a useful directional view).
Less robust 2026 bank IT budget outlook - 3.2% growth average: On average,
European banks & credit unions expect their 2026 IT budgets to increase by ~3.2% vs
~4.4% in 2025 (with ~77% of respondents expecting an increase, ~15% expecting
