The 2nd Chinese wave looks stronger than the 1st Analyst
With the 2nd series of launches from Chinese OEMs with high tech, affordable alberto.valerio@ubs.com
comparable vehicles in Brazil since late 2025, we have seen a structural shift in the +55-11-2767 6918
market, with Chinese OEMs rising from very small players in 2023 (with 1% market Andressa Varotto
share in Jan/23) to consolidated OEMs in the Brazilian Hatch/Entry, Premium, Analyst
Medium and Compact SUVs and Sedans, mainly through retail sales, reaching 7% andressa.varotto@ubs.com
market share in Dec/24 and 17.6% share as of May/26. This comes as result of the +55-11-2767 6654
shift of models offered, as the 1st wave was characteristic for Medium/Heavy SUVs Rafael Simonetti
above R$200k, while in this wave we see a larger presence still in the Medium/ Associate Analyst
Heavy SUVs but also in the Hatch/Entry segment ,with cars hovering in the R$120- rafael.simonetti@ubs.com
150k range. As a result, we see Chinese cars with strong penetration in retail sales, +55-11-2767 6628
especially the Dolphin Mini, which has ben the most sold car for retail in the last 3
months.
Refreshing our FIPE tracker: adding19 new cars
For June 2026, our revised estimated FIPE first year depreciation rises from -18.1%
to -18.8%. This is a result of adjustments to our FIPE depreciation calculation on two
fronts: we include 19 new cars previously not in our FIPE price tracker, based on
listings of Seminovos and RAC for Localiza and Movida, as some models were
discontinued since our last alterations.
