We attended a small meeting held after the close on Jul 23, with President Toru
Japan Post Insurance (7181.T, 7181 JP)
Onishi as the speaker. The main comments from the company were as follows.

• Jun contracting activity saw a larger-than-expected pullback following a Stock Rating Overweight

attractive investment opportunities, allocating funds to shareholder returns
is also an option.
• Regarding the reinsurance vehicle with SCOR, legacy classified whole-life
annuity policies, representing approximately ¥9trn of policy reserves, are
considered a potential pool for cession. The initiative is intended to enhance
