TD Synnex Corp.: Takeaways From Our Fireside Chat with SNX's CFO
Barclays | TD Synnex Corp.
•• Hyve: Liquid cooling emerging as a growth vector: Hyve has invested in U.S. liquid-cooling
capacity and engineering resources, with management indicating customer adoption is
accelerating and initial program awards are already contributing to returns on investment.
•• AI a tailwind for both Distribution and Hyve: Beyond hyperscaler infrastructure demand,
SNX highlighted growing enterprise AI hardware deployments and noted the company was an
early mover in building dedicated AI go-to-market and services capabilities.
•• Open-weight model LLM Models could extend the Compute Refresh Cycle: SNX believes
open-weight and agentic AI could become a meaningful infrastructure tailwind. As enterprise
AI shifts toward token-based economics, enterprises are increasingly focused on inference
costs. This may drive greater adoption of on-prem and edge AI deployments using open-
weight models, particularly where cost, data security, or latency are important. While SNX
sees the trend as early, they see potential for AI-related server and infrastructure demand to
extend the broader compute refresh cycle.
•• Memory inflation contributed to growth, but volumes remain primary driver:
Management indicated a few hundred bps of recent billings growth came from component
pricing, with the majority driven by underlying volume growth. Server OEM price increases
have not yet fully flowed through reported billings.
•• Working capital pressure reflects Hyve growth, not investment in Distribution: Higher
inventory and cash-day headwinds are largely tied to funding new Hyve program ramps.
Management stressed capital deployment remains focused on ROIC and profitability rather
