• Apple announced details of its new multiyear agreement (through 2031) with
Broadcom - expected to exceed $30B and lead to the production of >15B U.S.-made
chips.
• It will enable Broadcom to expand and modernize its manufacturing facilities in
Fort Collins, Colorado, with a $1.5B capex investment. At the facility, Broadcom will
produce advanced radio frequency components (including FBAR filters) and advanced
wireless connectivity technologies.
• As we noted previously, the 8K filing specifically mentions the development and
supply of a range of custom ASIC silicon products for use in multiple generations of
Apple products. While there are no additional details, this notably differs from the
language used in the prior May 2023 agreement (AVGO 8K; AAPL press release)
between the companies, which only mentioned 5G RF components, including FBAR
