Energy (MME) approved the National Mining Plan 2050, establishing a 25-year

roadmap focused on mineral security, critical minerals, value-added processing,

innovation, and the energy transition, while also launching voluntary ESG guidelines

for the mining sector. Also, MegaWhat highlighted that the Senate advanced the

Metano Zero Program, which aims to reduce methane emissions through waste-to-

energy solutions, biodigestion, and renewable gas production, while introducing a

certification framework that could be linked to Brazil’s future carbon market.

ANP monitors fuel supply in Northern Brazil amid El Niño risks

NovaCana reported that the ANP is intensifying preventive monitoring of fuel supply

in Northern Brazil to mitigate potential logistical disruptions caused by a strong El

Niño in 2026. The Agency is working with fuel distributors, Petrobras, and other

market participants to assess contingency plans and ensure supply security,

particularly given the risk that lower river levels could affect fuel transportation in

the region.

Emerging markets gain relevance in Climate Finance

Eixos published that China, South Korea, Brazil, and India accounted for roughly 72%

of voluntary climate finance flows from emerging economies between 2013 and

2023, helping support energy transition and adaptation projects across developing

countries. According to WRI, these flows totaled approximately US$102 billion, with

financing accelerating significantly after 2020 and reaching US$17.1 billion in 2023.

The findings underscore the growing role of emerging markets in shaping a more

diversified and multipolar climate finance landscape, even as uncertainty around
