on Political Uncertainty & Costs

We recently surveyed finance executives at large hospitals and health systems to better gauge the current

appetite for IT investment and outsourcing across various workflows within the healthcare services

spectrum. Please see takeaways below:

Key Highlights

➢ NTM Hospital Financial Outlook and IT Investments

▪ Hospital financial outlooks dipped sequentially and turned net negative vs prior

surveys with a slightly larger number of respondents citing neutral or worse financial

conditions

▪ Labor costs, political headwinds, and cost trend were the main reasons for

negative outlook, while volumes and easing labor costs continue to ease on

some hospitals

▪ Regarding changes in ACA and Medicaid, respondents were indicating that their

organization was either implementing AI in response to the political headwinds or

investing more in RCM to ensure more accurate collections, while others are

monitoring the situation but staying on the sidelines

➢ NTM IT investment focus is still stable re security & privacy and data & analytics following

next in terms of priorities (though down sequentially over 1Q), pointing to sustained demand for

infrastructure modernization and workflow efficiency

➢ Overall, both data & analytics and security & privacy continue to remain top focuses over the

NTM
