Fashion Files Vol 164: Denim and Americana, RL
Men's Fashion Show
For this week in our fashion coverage, we focus on 1) LEVI driving brand
engagement during the World Cup, 2) Wrangler launches Americana collection
ahead of the 4th of July as it builds on American roots with elevated product, 3)
Wrangler to support Western cultural engagement with new festival activations
this summer, 4) RL Milan fashion show highlights, and 5) our denim expert call
recap.
Levi's Turns FIFA Blackout Into Winning Marketing Moment: FIFA’s de-branding mandate across
all 15 US World Cup venues put Levi’s Stadium (temporarily renamed “San Francisco Bay Area
Stadium”) in focus, as it used massive white tarps to cover the logo. Rather than absorb disruption,
LEVI leaned into the moment, replacing its Instagram profile picture with the covered logo and
extending the white-sheet design to storefronts across seven countries, incl. Paris, London, Brazil,
Mexico, & Hong Kong. The campaign generated strong engagement, with an updated logo post
reaching ~2.5M views (well above recent posts <10K) and one related TikTok drawing ~9M views.
We view this as a relatively low-cost awareness driver for LEVI more than revenue conversion at
this stage, but remain encouraged by continued marketing wins (e.g. Super Bowl earlier this year
that drove meaningful EMV uplift). For reference, we note overall "Levi's jeans" search interest is
strong and has accel'd in Q2 to 60% Y/Y from 16% in Q1.
Wrangler Launches Americana Collection: Wrangler intro'd an "Americana" collection ahead of
4th of July and US 250th anniversary, feat. flag-inspired graphics across men’s, women’s, and
accessories.
