colonization and transmission, and poor durability of protection.

●Current vaccines prevent severe disease but do not prevent

colonization and transmission as they do not generate mucosal

immunity, allowing for asymptomatic carriers.

●ILiAD’s candidate BPZE1 is a live attenuated intranasal pertussis

vaccine designed to generate mucosal and systemic immunity

to protect against infection, disease, and to prevent colonization

and transmission.

●During this webinar we discussed the shortcomings of available

pertussis vaccines and the unmet need, the design and differentiation

of ILiAD’s BPZE1, data generated to date, the P3 design and path to

approval, and more.

There are ~24M cases of pertussis annually including 160K deaths in

children <5 years of age, despite high vaccination rates.

●Pertussis diagnosis is likely not being made as often as it occurs → real

incidence is likely higher than estimated.

●Pertussis may be causing health problems beyond whooping cough.

●There is increased risk of asthma, which affects QoL and

significant costs to manage.

●There also may be significant negative neurocognitive impact

in young children → >1/3 hospitalized in pediatric ICU have
