A customer letter from Knauf and our channel checks indicate that fiberglass

insulation manufacturers are delaying the previously announced 6% June price

increase to September 1. The delay presents modest downside risk to our OC

EBITDA estimates, as our model assumes low-single-digit price realization from

the June increase. We estimate that every 1% change in fiberglass insulation

pricing, which represents roughly 15% of OC consolidated sales, impacts EBITDA

by approximately $15 million, or about 1% of consolidated EBITDA, assuming full

flow-through. That said, expectations for successful price realization were already

muted given the weak new residential construction backdrop, ample supply, and

limited builder appetite for another increase.

June price increase delayed to September. Fiberglass insulation manufacturers

announced a 6% price increase that was supposed to be implemented throughout

June. However, in a letter to its customers, Knauf has delayed the implementation

of its 6% price increase from June 26 to September 1. The company cited

supporting its business partners in the current competitive environment as the

reason for the delay but noted that the inflationary environment remains

unchanged and that previously announced price increases will stay the same. Our

checks have indicated that OC, Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway company,

and CertainTeed, a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain (ticker: SGO), have taken similar

actions though not necessarily through formal customer letters.
