In this edition of Wurtzel's Weekly Wrap, we look at short interest across our BR PP NA NA
coverage universe. SI as a % of float has increased notably YTD and since this time CLVT PP NA NA
CSGP OP $50 66.0%
last year, and is up modestly since the end of 1Q26. EFX PP NA NA
EXPN-GB OP £33 29.8%
FA PP NA NA
●Short Interest Moves Higher: Short interest as a % of float across our coverage FDS UP $215 (2.8%)
universe currently sits at ~5.2%, compared to 5.0% at the end of March, 3.6% on FICO OP $1,450 32.2%
January 1, and 2.4% one-year ago. We believe that broad AI disintermediation IT PP NA NA
fears have contributed to the rising short interest across our space since the MCO OP $535 18.7% MSCI OP $710 22.2%
start of the year, though we are encouraged to see the rate of short interest PAYX UP $95 (3.3%)
increases moderate since the end of 1Q. We also note that five companies in SPGI OP $515 25.3%
our coverage have seen short interest decrease since the end of March (vs. just TRU OP $90 39.3%
VRSK OP $220 26.6%
two on a YTD basis). Overall, we believe the data shows that positioning and OP=Outperform, PP=Peer Perform,
sentiment across our space remains bearish. However, we continue to believe UP=Underperform, NR=Not Rated
that the AI related fears are overblown for most names in our space, and that
stable-to-accelerating revenue growth coupled with margin expansion over the
next few quarters can help quiet the narrative.
