longer companies wait to transition, there is a risk that there may not be supply to

do so. SXT’s investments ($250M capex + W/C) could support a bit more than the

$1B market opportunity they called for, but the nature of natural ingredient supply

chains mean some of the inputs may not be there without early customer

commitments.

SXT’s target for the $1B sales uplift is based on converting ~$100M of their

current synthetic color sales to natural color sales. The ~10x sales uplift is based on

more volume needed and higher price, and is based on SXT’s experience in a range

of applications. SXT in synthetics is ~1/2 of the US market, implying they capture a

similar share of the market that converts. There could be upside if more markets

convert or SXT gains share from earlier investments in supply chain, technology,

and capacity.

...growth won’t stop there

SXT has grown sales at a MSD% CAGR since 2019, and the US natural color

opportunity reflects a step change lift in sales. While timelines ex-US are uncertain,

there are similar ingredient shift opportunities in LatAm (Mexico considering

synthetic labels), Asia, and non-food markets such as pharma and pet food. We

don’t have explicit sizing for these other markets yet, but would estimate that SXT

could grow more in a MSD-HSD% range as other markets shift, even after the

large US transition. Certain colors are outside of SXT’s targeted sales increase,

including caramel and TiO2 (white), which are technically natural, but being

worked out of customer formulations. Conversion of these products could also

add to the potential TAM for SXT.
