Meta remains the clear category leader, and the gap is wide. As we wrote about in April (see our note here), the global smart glasses

market is an emerging segment of edge devices which Meta/EssilorLuxottica (ESLOY, NR) dominates today with 80%+ market share, but

where many players including Google, Snap, and Apple are jockeying for position with product launches slated for later in 2026 and 2027.

We estimate hardware revenue for M/E alone at $10B+ by 2030, with advertising and other high-value services driving additional revenue

streams. We see Google successfully emerging as the ecosystem/ OS provider for 3P partners, and Snap as a niche player at this point

aiming for the more advanced AR experience. We view Apple as a potential disruptor, a dark horse with the "pro" pricing strategy.

Google and Apple are still pre-launch, but both are credible threats that further crowd the field. Google is building its Android XR

ecosystem with eyewear partners Warby Parker (WRBY, NR), Gentle Monster (private), and Samsung (SSNLF, NR). However, neither

Google nor its partners have shipped a consumer device yet. Apple is pursuing a multi-device wearables push rather than glasses alone,

including camera-equipped smart glasses (production reportedly starting ~December 2026, launch ~2027, first-gen likely display-less
