According to the OECD, the ocean economy is defined as economic activities that: 1)

Segments of the ocean economy
Underwater robots, key vehicles for deep-sea and large-scale underwater exploration,
enable ocean exploration and research, underwater infrastructure maintenance,
environmental monitoring and underwater photography. Underwater robots typically
integrate sensors, cameras and articulated manipulators to perform submerged
operations. Acoustic detection equipment provides seabed mapping and underwater
sensing data, and they are usually carried by remotely operated vehicles (ROV),
