The economic indicators to watch next week will include the June flash PMIs on Research

Tuesday, which will provide a read on activity across the US, Europe and Japan

In the US, other notable data will include the May PCE, personal income and +44-20-754-10130

spending, as well as durable goods orders data, all due Thursday. Our US

economists expect core PCE to print +0.37% MoM, up from +0.2% in April, and

see both income and consumption up +0.5% MoM. The Fed will also release its

bank stress test results on Wednesday, while several Fed officials are scheduled

to speak throughout the week.

Over in Europe, in addition to the PMIs, sentiment indicators in Germany will

include the Ifo survey (Wednesday) and the July GfK consumer confidence print

(Thursday). In France, there will be business confidence on Tuesday and

consumer confidence on Thursday. Finally, the ECB will release its May consumer

expectations survey on Friday, with inflation expectations in focus. ECB speakers

will include President Lagarde amongst others. UK politics will also be in focus

after Andy Burnham’s victory in the Makerfield by-election, although Prime

Minister Starmer has said he will fight any leadership contest if one takes place.
