power: China has made electricity-computing collaboration a national strategy, with plans

starting in late 2024 and progressing through government reporting in 2025 and the Political

Bureau’s “six network integration” proposal in April 2026. The goal is to improve renewable

energy integration and increase installations. With China’s leadership in electricity and large-

scale models, rising computing power boosts confidence in grid and power generation

investments, encouraging early action and system liberalization. Starting in 2026, major new

data center hub projects must use at least 80% green electricity—a requirement adopted by

most provincial nodes except those with limited green power access. This will enable more

renewable energy integration by creating attractive returns for investors pairing wind or solar

with energy storage systems.
