646 562 1362 ■Amazon announced expansion of its LTL service from an inbound-only offering to a

behemoth had announced the inbound-only segment of the service last year and only
serviced LTL shipments moving into their own fulfillment centers. The expanded service
would allow a shipper to utilize LTL capacity to ship into any storage facilities as well as to
final distributors/retailers.
■We have previously highlighted that the scale of Amazon's retail capex (notes here
and here) could imply significant capacity and that the chances of them running an
overcapacitized network were material. Amazon recently disclosed its equipment
pool of 80K trailers and 24K intermodal containers placing them as one of the largest
