BRI detects where fragility risks lie in the bubble-era 09 June 2026

Fragility returned to markets last week, with rising rates once again driving the risk-off Equity Derivatives

move in US equities. The Nasdaq’s nearly 5% selloff was one of the worst risk-adjusted Global

1-day drops in its >40-year history, and the S&P’s decline was more than 5x what was

implied by options markets. Critically, frothy pockets of the market with high Bubble Risk

Indicator (BRI) readings (such as the Kospi & US semis) were most acutely affected,

reinforcing how measures like the BRI can better flag risk than fundamentals in reflexive

markets. In our view, the right tail & further expansion of the AI bubble continues to be
