Earlier today Amazon (covered by Ross Sandler) announced the launch of a less-than-
truckload (LTL) freight offering for all businesses and destination types, a development we
view as more noise than risk for existing national carriers. Please see the announcement

Our read of marketing materials indicates Amazon's LTL offering remains an arm of the
asset-light brokerage business, with likely limited capabilities to compete with traditional
LTL networks. In our initial take on Amazon's LTL offering last year (see "Thoughts on Amazon's
Potential LTL Ambitions" published 24 Feb 2025), we flagged several challenges for Amazon to
become a viable for-hire LTL competitor: most notably a lack of dedicated LTL infrastructure, a
