intensified. In this backdrop, further rate hikes are likely to be the primary near-term
anchor for the IDR. BI effectively signalled this approach last month (link), indicating that
tighter policy would transmit across the curve. The cumulative 75bp of hikes, alongside
a 65bp increase in 10Y yields over the past month, underscores that stabilisation, rather
than growth, will remain the immediate priority. While it's the right step for FX stability,
our Asia strategists notes that more likely has to be done, with ID-US 10y real bond yield
still low at 20th percentile of its 10y range.
