Research Analysts:

Matthew VanVliet Thoughts and Musings from the Week 312-469-7405

Matthew.VanVliet@cantor.com It was a wild week for App Software as a group, with shares up strong on

Mason Marion Monday after a robust session last Friday, but then proceeded to give back

economic data including major upside to jobs numbers today, the market

seems to be some mix of skepticism about the durability of the AI CapEx

projections, expected public listings for several Frontier Model companies

that will potentially absorb trillions in market cap from potential rotation

and persistent inflation concerns as the US-Iran conflict drags on. All told, it

seems that large enterprises continue to push for more productivity from

fairly stagnant headcount levels, and not targeting major RIFs (other than

a few areas of tech where past over-hiring and bloated cost structures are

more likely the real culprit anyhow).

So as AI models evolve rapidly and coding agent capabilities are severely

truncating R&D timelines, we expect incumbent vendors rich in data

and business context to release a growing number of highly functional

agents already fully integrated into existing software platforms; this will

be a major productivity boost to the economy during 2H26 and beyond.

Building is becoming quite easy and fast, but truly enterprise-grade security,

governance, regulatory/statutory compliance, and interoperability are

much more difficult, which is where incumbent vendors have the right-to-

win if the features are near parity. Vibe-coding is not going to be a thing for
