US Economics: PCE to shape the bar for Fed hikes USBofASEconomist

This week, the main focus is the April personal income and outlays report, including PCE Equity & Quant Strategy

inflation (Thursday). Our economics team expects headline PCE to rise 0.4% m/m (3.8% Savita Subramanian

y/y), while core PCE is projected to increase 0.3% m/m (3.3% y/y), as inflation continues EquityBofAS & Quant Strategist

to run above the Fed’s 2% target. For the Fed to resume hikes under Warsh, core PCE Derivatives Strategy

would likely need to reaccelerate (to around 3.5% or higher), alongside a decline in the u- Nitin Saksena
