• Northern markets remain stronger than southern markets: Rightmove reported a 1.2% Barclays, UK

m/m rise in average asking prices in May. However, affordability pressures are reinforcing a

distinct north–south divergence in asking price momentum, with gains in the more affordable

North East (+2.7%) and North West (+2.6%) regions, contrasting with declines in London

(-2.4%) and the South East (-1.6%).
