First Read: Adyen "Key takeaways from the UBS Europe Technology, Media and..."

ns pragmatic rather than promotional. As a

consumer payment method, Adyen sees little to no merchant traction today and does

not believe stablecoins solve a meaningful problem for mainstream commerce in its core

markets. There may be credible use cases in certain emerging markets or payout

corridors, for example where recipients prefer dollar-linked assets or local banking

infrastructure is slower or less reliable. However, these use cases are not currently

material enough to drive product prioritisation for Adyen. The more interesting internal

angle is treasury, where management acknowledged that stablecoins could eventually

change how internal treasury is managed. Adyen has people working on the topic, but is

not currently offering stablecoin-related products and views the area as something it

needs to stay close to rather than a near-term revenue opportunity.

Capital allocation & Talon.One

Adyen remains disciplined on capital allocation, prioritising flexibility for selective M&A

and organic investment while recognising that any capital return is complicated by its

status as a Dutch-regulated bank. A buyback is not ruled out, but would require

engagement with the DNB, credit rating agencies and other stakeholders, with approval

potentially taking around four months and limiting opportunistic execution; if pursued,

share cancellation would likely be preferred. The Talon. One acquisition fits Adyen’s

selective M&A framework by extending the proposition beyond payments into loyalty,

promotions and customer engagement, giving Adyen access to CMOs, revenue teams

and loyalty leaders focused on CAC, LTV and recurrence rather than payment

acceptance costs.
