Bristol-Myers Squibb: Key takeaways from BMY Pipelines Unplugged with CMO
CELMoDs (MM): ASCO will make the case for replacement
Revlimid and Pomalyst (IMiDs) totaled >$15bn peak sales; BMY aspires to replace them
with CELMoDs iberdomide and mezigdomide. At ASCO investors will see first results for
mezi (SUCCESSOR-2), and BMY believes investors will leave assured that mezi will beat
Pomalyst in the SUCCESSOR-1 trial. BMY is not worried about iber approval on MRD(-),
and hints that PFS (the usual endpoint) will be available soon. Revlimid maintenance
comprised most the $15bn peak, thus the importance of the iber EXCALIBUR-
Maintenance H2H against Revlimid. BMY maintains Revlimid is the mainstay of
maintenance, saying Darzalex/Revlimid maintenance is a minority practice (although use
is increasing).
Pumitamig (solid tumors): NSCLC validation at ASCO
BMY would not be drawn into a discussion about competitor ivonescimab (OS at ASCO),
preferring to look at its own data from the global ROSETTA-Lung02 trial, data to be
presented at ASCO including first data in NSQ NSCLC. BMY frames pumitamig as an
anchor in oncology, starting in tumors sensitive to either PDx or VEGF. Iza-bren ADC and
PRMT5 as top-of-mind combination partners for the next wave of “novel/novel” trials.
BMY is conducting a series of combination trials looking at many permutations across its
portfolio, then advancing the winners. Partner BNTX can also be a source of
combination partners.
