The semiconductor end market (now representing ~3% of total company sales),

should continue as a tailwind for Thermo with AI-related demand driving an

acceleration in manufacturing. The company’s semiconductor / advanced

materials offerings are well-suited for automated manufacturing / sampling and

Thermo anticipates that semiconductor manufacturing will continue to shift in

this direction and require more standardized solutions.

China (~7.5% of total revenue) is expected to grow below enterprise organic

growth under the LRP, with strength in biopharma / biotech offset by weakness

in healthcare / industrial markets. Upside to these assumptions would come from

a further acceleration in regional pharma / biotech. Other relevant end market

nuggets included Dx / healthcare reimbursement pressure moderating in the

near-term and a steady uptick in testing volumes long-term and stabilization of

U.S. / China A&G funding over time.

AI Tailwinds Present and Accelerating: AI was one of the highlights of the day and

is still expected as a tailwind to Thermo and broader biopharma space. Across

discovery and clinical research AI is expected to increase the number and quality

of drug candidates, leading to both increased demand for wet lab validation and

greater demand for CRO’s to manage larger pipelines. Thermo also noted an

increase in wet lab experiments for the sole purpose of generating validated data

for AI-based biology models. Thermo’s current efforts to leverage AI in drug

discovery include partnerships with industry leaders, including a partnership with
