Calm before the storm 18 May 2026

Thailand’s GDP expanded in 1Q26, growing by +2.8% YoY and +0.7% QoQ SA, compared GEM Economics

with +2.5% YoY in 4Q25. On the demand side, growth was supported by resilient Asia | Thailand

Mixed trend within consumption components

Private consumption rose by +3.2%, driven by consumption of both semi-durable and
