1. SOCIAL: Talking Social with TISFD

We hosted the Taskforce for Inequality and Social-related Financial Disclosures (TISFD)

for an expert access session this week. This was a very timely event as the taskforce is

gearing up to publish guidance for businesses and financial institutions to understand

and report on social-related impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities. We heard

that TISFD will publish the first version of their disclosure recommendations on the 26th

May. This will include a set of general requirements and disclosures aligned with TCFD’s,

TNFD’s and ISSB’s 4 pillar structure: governance, strategy, impact & risk management,

and metrics & targets. A set of metrics and targets recommended for disclosure will then

be published in November, followed by public consultations and a final framework being

ready for late-2027. Alongside several social topics that will be covered – wellbeing,

human rights, human social capital – inequality also constitutes a big part of their

framework. Investors in the audience had several lines of queries, including on the role

of ISSB, indigenous rights, disclosures vs actual impact, and examples of materiality.

2. CHILD SAFETY: EU wants to tackle social media addiction

The European Commission hosted a Summit on AI and Children in Copenhagen this

week, calling for more protections for children in the digital age (press release). President

von der Leyen argued that the power of big tech is not impossible to roll back, and that

the EU does not have to accept addictive social media designs. She noted the

Commission has already launched several investigations into TikTok for addictive

design, Meta for failure to enforce age verification rules, and X for Grok’s alleged creation
