Mgmt. pushed back on the view that the emerging markets growth model is structurally
impaired, framing the current dynamic as a China-led reset rather than broader emerging
markets (EM) slowdown. China remains a near-term drag, but performance is tracking as
expected, with VBP pricing headwinds becoming less severe and patient volume
normalization already underway. Over time, this supports a recovery to ~5–10% growth
off a depressed base, without requiring a return to historical double-digit levels. At the
same time, growth is broadening across other high-growth regions (Southeast Asia,
India, Saudi Arabia), where the company is gaining traction in core diagnostics and
biopharma services, supported by increasing healthcare investment and local
manufacturing buildouts. With China now closer to ~10% of revenue (vs. peak ~15%),
the EM framework is normalizing toward a more balanced contribution — with
developed markets at +Mid-Single Digit growth and EM modestly above that, even with
a lower China contribution.
Price objective basis & risk
Danaher Corporation (DHR)
Our $270 price objective (PO) is based on a discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis
(assumes 8.5% weighted-average cost of capital-WACC, 4% terminal growth rate). We
believe this discount rate is appropriate as several key acquisitions (e.g., GE Life
Sciences, Aldevron, Cepheid) have significantly accelerated Danaher's organic revenue
growth, enhanced margins, lowered the company's cyclical exposure, and increased the
percentage of sales from recurring revenues.
