Monday Metrics: Deliveries, Flights,

Retirements to 10 May 2026

Monday Metrics is our data series focused on key civil aerospace metrics.

It is based on Cirium data for deliveries, retirements, first flights, and

FlightRadar24 data for commercial flights. We thus aim to provide insights

on Airbus production, as well as aftermarket trends for MTU Aero, Safran

and Rolls-Royce. Please contact the team for feedback & suggestions.

Deliveries: Airbus deliveries at 3 MTD, with 3 in the past week. Cirium showed Airbus

delivering 3 aircraft last week (3 A320), bringing the May-to-date deliveries to 3 (3 A320), slightly

lower vs last year at 6 deliveries (-50% yoy on small numbers). As usual, Cirium data can lag

actual recorded deliveries by a few days, hence we would expect actual deliveries to be slightly

ahead of their estimates.

First Flights: Airbus first flights at 13 MTD, with 13 in the past week. Cirium showed 13 first

flights for Airbus last week (10 A320, 1 A220, 1 A330 and 1 A350), bringing May-to-date first

flights to 13 (10 A320, 1 A220, 1 A330 and 1 A350). This compares to 12 first flights over the

same period last year (+8% MTD YoY), and we expect c. 60-65 first flights in May.

Retirements level: now at 134 YTD. Assuming a stable run-rate, this would put total 2026

retirements (for the narrowbody and widebody fleet) at 1.2% and 1.0% of the end-2025 fleet

(2025: 1.4% and 1.5% respectively). Total CFM56 retirements YTD stand at 82 through 10 May

(vs. 61 over the same period last year). The V2500 remains low with 6 retirements YTD. Overall,

2025 remained a year of very low retirement rates, with the CFM56 standing at 2.0% of the
