Fiserv Inc.: Blueprint for a Compounder; Awaiting Execution
IdeaM• Banking: At or slightly below the low end of the 2%–4% range. Growth
drivers include stabilizing attrition to historical levels, rollout of the
Experience Digital platform (250 clients already on-platform), and execution
of the VAS roadmap.
• Digital Payments: Toward the higher end of the 2%–4% range, driven by
organic growth in debit and network volumes, mix shift toward real-time
payments, and VAS expansion including CashFlow Central.
• Issuing: Also toward the higher end, supported by volume growth in North
America and internationally, the Vision Next revenue pipeline (a $250 million
pipeline already in place), and $200 million of existing revenue commitments
in 2026.
Clover looks to backbook, VAS, and financial offerings to support overall HSD
growth in Merchant. The 6-8% med-term revenue growth target for Merchant
incorporates 15%–20% growth in Clover, which we think will depend on successful
execution across multiple facets, including backbook conversion, related revenue
uplift from converted merchants, expanded VAS adoption, and expanded Clover
Capital and Savings revenues. We think this warrants some caution given a highly
competitive market with rivals such as Square expanding sales distribution and
moving upmarket toward Clover's key customers. Still, we acknowledge Fiserv's
distribution footprint as a genuine differentiator with five scaled distribution
channels: direct, bank, ISV, ISO, and wholesale processing. Direct and bank channels
represent approximately 40% of new Clover outlets, with approximately 80% of
that channel selling Clover, and ISO/agent channels represent the remaining
approximately 60%, with Clover penetration of only 40% and a healthy 15% growth
