APGE - Model Updated to Incorporate 1Q26 Business and Financial Updates
Truist Securities
Company Description
Apogee Therapeutics (APGE) is an immunology-focused biotechnology company advancing a pipeline of optimized novel biologics
designed for best-in-class differentiation in the largest Inflammation & Immunology (I&I) markets. Founded in 2022, the company’s
strategy centers on "optimizing the validated" - identifying clinically established mechanisms (IL-13, OX40L, TSLP) and engineering them
with superior pharmacokinetics (PK) via proprietary YTE half-life extension to reduce treatment burden and improve long-term patient
outcomes.
Investment Thesis
APGE is an I&I platform company leveraging its proprietary YTE half-life extension technology to disrupt the atopic dermatitis (AD) market.
Its lead asset, zumilokibart (APG777), is positioned as a best-in-category anti-IL13 mAb with a targeted Q3M/Q6M maintenance dosing
profile, offering meaningfully greater convenience than Dupixent (Q2W) and Ebglyss (Q4W) with comparable efficacy. Upcoming Phase
2 data could represent a key de-risking event for extended dosing. While we expect zumi to clear Apogee’s internal efficacy bar (i.e.,
Dupixent-like Phase 3 efficacy), buyside expectations appear higher - closer to Ebglyss-like Q3M efficacy or Dupixent-matching Q6M
results. Given noise in an earlier small-study datacut, we lack confidence that zumi will clear this elevated bar, and believe a true “homerun”
is required to drive material upside. Although APGE is advancing additional pipeline programs, we view zumilokibart in AD as the primary
value driver. Robust efficacy and safety data in the additional indications being evaluated (AD, asthma) are critical to unlocking broader
platform value across the rest of the pipeline.
