Company Description

The Omnicom Group (OMC) is a portfolio of marketing communications companies. These

companies offer a full range of services, including brand advertising, customer relationship

management, media planning and buying services, public relations, and numerous specialty

communications services. Some of its key brands include OMD, PHD, DDB, BBDO, and TBWA.

OMC operates across seven reporting segments.

Valuation Method and Risk Statement

Given our Buy rating, we outline key downside risks to our thesis, around five areas: (1)

Investor sentiment towards the proposed iPG merger continues to weaken. For example, if

they were to lose a high profile media account in the next 12 months; (2) 2025 organic

growth. We think this will driven primarily by whether Omnicom existing clients increase or

decrease their overall advertising spend. A particular area of interest is TMT clients, which cut

their spend materially in 2023. Downside risk exists if these cuts continue and Omnicom sees

declines in its creative business, (3) Account win momentum. Omnicom had a strong 2024

with account win momentum likely adding to 2025 organic growth. (4) Macro indicators.

Share price performance has historically been impacted by investor perceptions of the risk of a

weak macro environment. (5) Evidence of structural headwinds. In 2023, a narrative emerged

around generative AI impacting the creative agencies. There is a risk that this narrative re-

emerges in 2025, or that alternative negative structural narratives emerge.
