pharmaceutical companies is increasing further due to advances in AI, but there is

currently limited movement by pharmaceutical companies themselves to collect data

and bring operations in-house. We believe companies capable of generating data will

continue to have an advantage, and that business risk for JMDC and M3 is relatively

limited. For example, electronic medical records, which are expected to be used in the

future, are not standardised across hospitals, making database construction difficult.

Meanwhile, concerns and risks associated with pharmaceutical companies owning

databases themselves have eased somewhat recently. This is because if, for example, a

database included adverse events (AE), it is expected to be possible to build systems that

automatically report them to regulatory authorities using AI. For JMDC and M3 to

maintain their advantages, in addition to collecting data that is difficult to obtain
