Breaking down factors for sales growth in the Shimamura format on an all-store basis in

July, customer traffic fell 5.9% yoy and sales per customer grew 1.3%. In the breakdown

of factors affecting sales per customer, the price per item fell 1.7% yoy and the number

of items purchased increased 3% yoy. The number of weekend/holiday days was

unchanged yoy. FY2/27 guidance for same-store sales in the core Shimamura format is

for an increase of around 3% yoy. For Shimamura, we forecast FY2/27 OP of ¥67.7bn

(company guidance ¥66.8bn, IBES consensus ¥67.0bn), assuming +3.8% yoy growth in

same-store sales in the Shimamura business.

On 21 July, Shimamura's competitor in the Birthday format, Nishimatsuya Chain (7545,

not covered) announced its preliminary monthly sales for July, reporting a 0.9% yoy
