TIM Ultracombo launch: convergence to defend share vs. rising price

competition

What happened: Last week, according to Teletime, TIM launched the TIM

Ultracombo, an offer combining mobile, fixed broadband and, in some categories,

streaming subscriptions in a single package. Key details were:

Mobile, fiber and streaming in one package. The portfolio combines mobile

plans with data allowances from 65 GB to 200 GB and TIM Ultrafibra broadband

of 500 Mbps, 600 Mbps or 1 Gbps. Depending on the category, packages also

include a Globoplay or Paramount+ subscription and inclusion in higher tiers of

the TIM Mais loyalty program.

Savings of up to 40% vs. buying separately. Monthly fees range from R$89.99

to R$314.99, valid for payments via automatic debit. TIM said the bundle can

represent savings of up to 40% vs. contracting the same services individually.

As an example, the package combining the TIM Black Família VIP plan (200

GB), 600 Mbps broadband and Globoplay costs R$314.99/month, vs. ~R$570 if

contracted separately.
