GREED & fear Wags are calling it the Memorandum of Misunderstanding. But that assumes the

47th president actually read the 14-point MoU signed by the US and Iran on 17 June. GREED &

fear severely doubts that. What is clear to GREED & fear is that outright conflict has resumed

between the US and Iran and that Donald Trump, the man who got elected on the “no more

wars” agenda, is in a trap of his own making in the sense that GREED & fear’s base case is that

Iran will be able to keep the Strait essentially closed and that time is on its side in terms of the

growing impact of energy-related shortages.

India Equity Strategy The MSCI India was down 0.1% WoW. It outperformed the EM Index by

187bps and the AxJ Index by 184bps. Realty and IT were top outperformers, while FMCG and

Utilities were the top underperformers. The INR was down 0.1% against the USD this week. Ten-

year G-Sec bond yields were flat WoW to 6.71%. Jefferies India Model Portfolio outperformed

MSCI India by 121bps this week.
