Psychedelics, Public Hearing on Sep 14th

FDA's final guidance on psychedelics suggests the agency remains receptive

to helping sponsors succeed (CMPS, DFTX, ATAI, HELP, GHRS, etc). In

collaboration with "federal partners," the FDA will host a Sep 14 public hearing

to obtain feedback - a timely development as COMP360 (oral psilocybin) could

become the first psychedelic approved around YE:26. Ultimately, a friendlier

regulatory environment should make psychedelics a more investable space.

Big picture: The psychedelic macro backdrop continues to improve, given Big Pharma's

rising interest, JNJ Spravato's (intranasal esketamine) commercial success ($2B+ runrate), a

collaborative FDA (here, here, here, here), and the emergence of several (+) datasets that suggest

psychedelics can profoundly benefit hard-to-treat $1B+ CNS disorders (MDD, TRD, PTSD, SAD, etc).

On Sep 14 (12:30-4:30pm ET), the FDA will host a public hearing to discuss "issues" associated

with psychedelic drugs in supervised/supportive settings. Akin to 2023, the public may submit

comments. Both the timing and FDA's exact intention behind the Sep 2026 hearing are curious,

but we wonder if hosting one obviates the need for pot'l future AdComs unless the clinical data

are controversial (e.g. Lykos had an AdCom previously), especially as COMP360's (oral psilocybin)

nears FDA approval as early as YE:26 (with 3 (+) Phase IIb/III studies on hand) on an expedited 1-2

month review (CNPV voucher granted in April 2026), post NDA rolling completion in Q4:26. Our take:
