CYTK & IONS – Quick Take on ESC Late-Breaker Update
CITI'S TAKE
With the ESC late-breaker lineup announced this morning, we wanted to
offer some incremental thoughts on CYTK and IONS, both with pivotal
programs prominently positioned at the medical congress. Although
there's little detail beyond the title info, for CYTK, we incrementally Eric Joseph, PhDAC
encouraged by ACACIA-HCM results being featured across two late- +1-212-816-8697
breaking sessions (details below) that together we suspect will relate eric.joseph@citi.com
heart remodeling to symptom improvement, and solidify Myqorzo’s
regulatory and commercial outlook in non-obstructive HCM. For IONS, the
Hot Line presentation slot for CARDIO-TTRansform does have us
pleasantly surprised. That said, we'd resist over-inferring beyond the
narrowed timeframe to a potential topline readout (alongside Astra’s 2Q
results feels increasingly likely; AZN covered by Graham Parry) to the
strength of trial results (our published views and investor feedback into
CARDIO-TTRansform here and here).
CYTK will present additional data from the ACACIA-HCM study since topline
across two late-breaking sessions and further MAPLE-HCM data.
1. ACACIA-HCM: Aficamten for Symptomatic Nonobstructive Hypertrophic
Cardiomyopathy on Aug. 28, 11:45am CEST (session link)
2. Effect of Aficamten on Cardiac Structure and Function in Patients with
Symptomatic Nonobstructive Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy - Results from
the ACACIA-HCM Trial on Aug. 29, 4:15pm CEST (session link)
3. Aficamten vs. Metoprolol Monotherapy in Obstructive Hypertrophic
Cardiomyopathy According to Pre-Trial Treatment in MAPLE-HCM on Aug.
