The news. Earlier today, Anthropic introduced Claude Science, an AI-native workbench designed to
unify fragmented scientific workflows in a single research environment. The application integrates
commonly used tools (literature databases, coding environments, HPC resources) and supports
pre-configured connectors across domains (genomics, proteomics, structural biology). Looking
closer, Claude operates as a coordinating agent with the ability to delegate tasks to specialist
agents, generate reproducible outputs (figures, code, manuscripts) and manage compute on local
machines, clusters and on-demand GPUs. The product is launching in beta for Pro, Team and
Enterprise users, with early traction in single-cell analysis, CRISPR design and protein modeling.
