We use the latest Nielsen data to analyse the US instant noodle market and sector Jae Hyung Choi

company conditions in June 2026. Please note that due to a system issue with Nielsen, Analyst

data from club stores such as Costco and e-commerce platforms could not be obtained, jaehyung.choi@ubs.com

and the scope of our analysis this time is limited to grocery stores and convenience +82-2-3702 8172

stores, causing the lack of continuity with previously issued data. Our conclusions are as Ryunosuke Watanabe

follows: (1) US instant noodle sales volumes in June remained weak, at -1% yoy. (2) Sales Associate Analyst

volumes were sluggish, at -2%, for both Toyo Suisan and Nissin Foods, and (3) there was ryunosuke.watanabe@ubs.com

no notable change compared with the data in April and May. +81-3-5208 6243

Toyo Suisan: sales promotions have not been restarted yet

At Toyo Suisan, sales volume fell 5% yoy in January-March 2026 and continued to fall

2% in April-June, and 2% in June alone. In contrast, its unit selling price remained

elevated, rising 14% yoy in January-March 2026, 12% in April-June and 12% in June

alone. We had forecast that the company would resume sales promotions in June along

with the startup of a new factory, but it appears the company has not restarted sales

promotions yet, given weak sales volumes, while unit prices remain at high levels.

Nissin Foods: no change

At Nissin Foods, sales volume grew 2% yoy in January-March 2026, fell 3% in April-June
