LHX Delivers VC-25B Bridge Aircraft After 10 Months of Conversion. L3Harris delivered its

VC-25B “Bridge” aircraft to the US Air Force at Joint Base Andrews on June 19th, set to undergo

commissioning flights to validate the mission-capability & finalize protocols for the Presidential

Airlift mission. The 747-8I was gifted by Qatar in May 2025 and was converted within a 10-month

timeline as LHX operated three shifts around-the-clock. This aircraft is intended to bridge from the

existing VC-25A fleet, which has been in service since 1990, with one of the two VC-25As completing

its final Presidential flight last week after returning President Trump from the G7 Summit.

VC-25B Background. The VC-25B program is intended to replace the aging VC-25A fleet, which has
