Eurosatory 2026: A bearer of good news?

Eurosatory 2026, held in Paris from June 15-19, is the world's largest land defense

exhibition, featuring more than 2,000 exhibitors and official delegations from over 90

countries. This year, Korea has established a national Korea Pavilion jointly organized by

the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), the Korea Research Institute for

Defense Technology Planning and Advancement (KRIT), and the Korea Defense Industry

Association (KDIA), with participation spanning major defense companies including

Hanwha Aerospace, LIG D&A, KAI and Hyundai Rotem.

Defense exhibitions are more than marketing events. They frequently serve as venues for

contract signings and MoUs, joint venture and localization announcements, and

engagement with procurement authorities and industry partners.

• Eurosatory has also been an important platform for Korean defense companies to

deepen customer engagement and establish industrial partnerships in Europe.

Although major procurement programs are rarely concluded at the exhibition

itself, announcements made during the event often provide early indications of

future cooperation, localization efforts, and market expansion opportunities.

• At Eurosatory 2024, Hanwha Aerospace signed a cooperation agreement with

Norway's Kongsberg covering the integration of Kongsberg's combat systems and

remote weapon stations across K9 and Chunmoo platforms, reinforcing Hanwha's

localization strategy in Europe. The exhibition also coincided with growing

momentum around the Romanian K9 program, which reportedly became one of

the most important milestones in Hanwha's European expansion (DefenseNews, 20

Jun 2024).
