On the Zurich Canton, the affordable/social housing proposal was rejected, however, a
counterproposal was accepted which includes the goal of social housing within the
constitution but removes the role of the state as the developer (see here). The second
proposal around tenant protection, which was originally aiming to limit rent increases,
was also rejected with a counter proposal accepted that introduces targeted protection
for tenants, with flexibility at municipalities for this.
