Middle East – Should I stay or should I go?
On-and-off war in the Middle East has created an uncertain outlook across commercial
aerospace despite solid fundamentals across OEMs, AM and BizJets. Jet fuel prices fell
after US-Iran de-escalation but remain elevated amidst the conflict’s topsy turvy
dynamic. This week’s CPI print showed a ~27% m/m increase in airline fares while
United and Delta both report that travelers continue to purchase tickets despite
increasing airfares. According to Airlines for America, jet fuel prices are 34% higher at
major US airports thus far in July. Whether the conflict generates travel demand

through July 29 based on EASA’s update. We view this as an indication that commercial
aerospace names will be pressured through the end of the month as tensions re-
escalate.
