GLOB/CINT: Microsoft launches AI deployment company with US$ 2.5bn

What happened: According to TechCrunch, yesterday, Microsoft announced a new

operating business called Microsoft Frontier Company, focused on delivering

enterprise AI deployments using Microsoft's existing AI tools. Key points were:

US$ 2.5bn investment and 6,000 experts. The project will be backed by a US

$ 2.5bn investment from Microsoft, as well as 6,000 industry and engineering

experts.

Microsoft distances the venture from the FDE label. Microsoft's Commercial

Business CEO Judson Althoff stated that the effort goes beyond what has been

labeled as Forward-Deployed Engineering (FDE), and said it will be "the

largest, most capable, outcome-driven engineering organization in the

industry."

Existing client base as a head start. The article notes Microsoft has already
