Meet the Analysts

Lydia Rainforth is a senior research analyst at Barclays,

responsible for coverage of European Integrated Energy

companies. Key areas of focus include energy transition

and how the oil and gas industry adapts to providing

clean, reliable and affordable energy in an increasingly

capital constrained world. The team has delivered

industry-leading work across the opportunities in

decarbonisation and is working to develop the modelling

of low carbon finance further. Lydia holds the CFA

certificate in ESG investing, is a CFA charterholder and

graduated with an MA from the University of Cambridge.

Mick Pickup, PhD, is Managing Director covering the

European Energy Services sector, having followed the

sector for over 20 years. He has consistently been highly

ranked in external surveys, having been rated number one

on multiple occasions, including being named the #1

individual for Oil Services in the latest II 2024 poll. Prior to

being a founding member of Barclays team in 2009, he

was at Lehman Brothers beginning in 2000, which he

joined after a brief time at Commerzbank and a previous

consultancy role at Evaluate Energy. Mick earned a B.A.

(Hons) from Oxford University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry

from UCL.

Naisheng Cui is a Director in Barclays Equity Research

department, responsible for coverage of the European

Integrated Energy sector with a particular focus on low

carbon business and energy transition. Prior to joining
