US Gov't, Quantum: New quantum innovation EO directing a DOE flagship machine

View: President Trump signed an executive order laying out a new government quantum strategy. Unlike May's funding round,

the new EO attaches no money and names no companies, instead directing agencies to build the policy architecture that will

serve as the strategic scaffolding around those earlier investments.

● The centerpiece of the EO is arguably the decision to pursue a new Quantum Computer at scale for Application

Development and Discovery Science (QC-ADDS). The system's specs are to be set within 90 days, with the EO calling for

commercialization options within 180 days.

● Additional initiatives include:

■ A national center to objectively benchmark quantum performance

■ 3 next generation sensor projects (to be identified within the next 90 days)

■ Efforts aimed at strengthening the quantum supply chain and building and retaining human capital.

As we had flagged previously, the government now appears to be tailoring policy to support its earlier investments, setting

clear technology development objectives that we expect will drive more near- to mid-term revenue across the quantum

ecosystem.
