Key Points

The Warsh Era Begins. Markets were back to their winning ways with the S&P 500,

NASDAQ-100, and Russell 2000 returning +0.7%, +2.4%, and +3.9% respectively. An

intraday reversal over the back half of the week was brought about on the back of positive

news surrounding a resolution with Iran and SpaceX’s record setting IPO. All eyes will be on

the FOMC meeting this Wednesday as the Kevin Warsh era begins. As we have noted,

markets like to test new Fed Chairs, and our sense is that his comments on inflation, the

balance sheet, and potential changes at the Fed will all be highly scrutinized. With headline

CPI running at 4.2%, the highest since 2023, particular attention will be paid to his thoughts

on whether higher energy prices will the pass through to core inflation.
