■ Crocs Debuts New Collabs. The brand partnered with Oracle (ORCL, Not Rated)
Red Bull Racing on a new pair of clogs inspired by the team's Formula 1 car and
with Nintendo (7974-TKS, Not Rated) on a five-shoe "Super Mario" collection set to
release in July. OUR TAKE: We note that collabs have been successful for Crocs (most
recently including LoveShackFancy, LEGO, both Private), especially as the brandLIFESTYLE looks to drive interest around the Classic Clog. Additionally, they have helped revive
DTC, with North America sales in the channel inflecting positively in Q1 (up ~5% in
CC) following four straight quarters of YoY declines. However, in our conversations
with management at FFANY last week, they noted plans to be somewhat more
strategic and selective with collabs going forward, while also leveraging collabs forBRANDS silhouettes beyond the Classic as they look to grow other areas of the business.
